Cari teBoekhorst is the newest member of the Flow Home Staging and Design team. Hailing from Ontario, Cari originally came to the West Coast to take the interior design training offered at the Art Institute of Vancouver.  Cari is a busy gal, but she took a few moments to answer these questions about interior design and home staging!

What drew you to a career in interior design and home staging?
I honestly believe my brain is re-wired for interior design. When I walk into a room I start mentally rearranging furniture, imagining colour, texture and fabrics on walls, ceilings and floors. It’s like solving a creative puzzle! So, I guess I just knew!

What do you enjoy most about working Flow?
My co-workers. They keep the work environment upbeat and enjoyable.

Where do you find the most inspiration for your decor ideas?
I take a page out of Sarah Richardson’s book when I say I love mixing the new with the old, the high and low, the shabby with the chic. These features married with the elements of nature and memorabilia of personal experiences, I believe will create a beautiful yet unique space to live.

What’s the one piece of staging or design advice you give to home owners most often?
Staging: LESS IS MORE! (So cliche, but true.)
Design: Live easier and be proud of your home.
