While the general idea of home staging is to de-personalize your home to appeal to the broadest range of potential buyers, there is one room where this rule can be broken: a child’s bedroom!

A kid’s space should be cheerful, whimsical and vibrant, so feel free to add bold colours, interesting patterns and funky accessories. Home buyers with families will be able to see the potential in these rooms, to balance fun with function, and it’s a great way to showcase a smaller bedroom that may otherwise seem unusable.

If you’re wary of using a deep wall colour that may be difficult to paint over, stick to bold bedding choices, bright pillows and interesting art pieces. Alternatively, you can invest in vinyl peel-and-stick wall decals, which add pattern and colour without damaging the painted surface.
