Want to know more about what we do here at Flow Home Staging and Design? Nicole Varga sat down to write about one of her recent design projects…

These clients are a young couple with 2 small children so we wanted to give them an adult living space that still had a sense of fun and reflected their personalities. We achieved this by selecting timeless furniture pieces and pairing them with high quality custom-made sofas that will last them many years. We added fun splashes of colour with coral and teal accents and some great abstract art. The whimsical curtain fabric helps brighten up the large room and keep it young and fresh.

The original basement was not suitable for their needs, so we knocked down the existing wall and added in our own to create more functional spaces. This allowed us to add a 3 piece bathroom as well.  We designed a built-in to house the large TV and incorporated a hidden storage area behind one of the cabinet doors.  The home owners house many guests throughout the year, so we made sure the sectional could pull out into a queen sleeper. The basement then becomes an elegant guest bedroom with a bit more privacy. We tied in some of the fun colours from upstairs by painting the whole basement a soft teal/grey colour to brighten up the basement.

The large patio served as a perfect canvas to create extra living space.  We were able to put a lounge area with a big sectional and an eating area that seats up to 8 people.  We also made a custom fire pit that heats up nice and warm to keep everyone comfortable long into the autumn days.
